We are looking for a talented Software Developer to join the team of our exceptional client. This role focuses on platform modernization, security remediation, system health, and technical debt reduction across a suite of business-critical applications.

Rather than building net-new features, you'll focus on maintaining and enhancing the health, security, and stability of existing systems through software engineering best practices, platform upgrades, and migration initiatives.

What will your day look like?

As a Software Developer, you will:

• Support a major reporting platform migration by building, testing, and validating data pipelines and application integrations

• Help ensure successful migration from legacy environments to modern data and reporting platforms

• Collaborate closely with project stakeholders to execute prioritized work from an Agile backlog

• Implement security remediations and software updates based on internal security recommendations and vulnerability assessments

• Translate security findings and remediation requirements into effective code changes

• Perform regression testing and validation activities to ensure application stability following updates and fixes

• Maintain application health by upgrading packages, libraries, frameworks, and platform dependencies

• Identify and resolve technical debt across applications and services

• Develop, test, and support software enhancements aligned with system health and modernization initiatives

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives

• Track development progress, update work items, and provide visibility into risks, blockers, and project status

• Partner closely with DevOps, Quality Engineering, and technical leadership teams to ensure successful delivery of initiatives

 


You will be a good fit for this role if you have:

• 3-6 years of professional software development experience

• Experience working on both frontend and backend applications

• Strong development experience with Node.jsJava, or similar programming languages

• Experience with JavaScriptTypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks such as React

• Experience maintaining and upgrading application dependencies, libraries, frameworks, and platform components

• Experience implementing software security fixes and supporting vulnerability remediation efforts

• Ability to analyze security findings and translate them into actionable engineering solutions

• Experience working with Agile development methodologies and Jira-managed backlogs

• Experience collaborating with technical teams across development, DevOps, QA, and project management functions

• Familiarity with AWS services, including:

• Lambda
• API Gateway
• RDS
• DynamoDB
• S3

• Familiarity with relational database technologies and SQL

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small, highly collaborative team


Nice-to-Haves

• Experience supporting reporting platform or data platform migrations

• Familiarity with modern analytics and reporting tools

• Experience with security vulnerability management and remediation processes

• Exposure to CVE analysis, vulnerability remediation, or enterprise security programs

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar platforms

• Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation tools

• Experience working within cross-functional Agile Scrum teams

• Familiarity with cloud-based application architecture and modernization initiatives
