MST

Sr. Python Software Engineer

Could you be a good fit?

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer – Python / Program Verification to join the team of our exceptional client. This unique role focuses on building a contract-verification framework that helps ensure the reliability, maintainability, and correctness of AI/ML platform code.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with formal systems, program analysis, and developer tooling. You'll transform abstract concepts—such as contracts, predicates, invariants, schemas, and validation rules—into practical tools that help engineers build better software. Success in this role requires strong Python expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to turn complex ideas into solutions that others can easily adopt.

Benefits:

• Health, Dental, Vision, 401k

What will your day look like?

As a Software Engineer – Python / Program Verification, you will:

• Design and implement a contract-verification framework using declarative predicates and invariants.
• Develop AST-based verification tools that analyze Python code and validate adherence to defined contracts.
• Create design-by-contract decorators and supporting infrastructure that enable automated code verification.
• Build clear, actionable diagnostics that help developers understand and resolve contract violations.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to define and evolve verification concepts and frameworks.
• Extend and maintain schema-driven data platforms and adapter layers supporting AI/ML workflows.
• Develop and enhance validation utilities, typing overlays, and schema evolution processes.
• Investigate verification failures and determine appropriate resolutions across contracts, implementations, and source systems.
• Integrate verification tooling into CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated enforcement of code standards.
• Document frameworks, best practices, and architectural decisions while supporting knowledge transfer across teams.
• Independently own implementation efforts while collaborating closely with technical leadership.

You will be a good fit for the Software Engineer role if you have:

• Strong experience designing and building software from formal or abstract models such as type systems, grammars, logic frameworks, constraint models, or program analysis concepts.
• Deep expertise in Python, including decorators, descriptors, metaclasses, type hints, and standard library capabilities.
• Experience building developer tooling, frameworks, libraries, or code analysis solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure and solve ambiguous technical challenges.
• Experience translating complex technical concepts into practical tools and APIs that developers can successfully adopt.
• Excellent written communication skills, including technical documentation, code reviews, and design documents.
• Ability to independently scope, prioritize, and deliver complex engineering initiatives.
• Experience working with source control, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
• Comfort working with AI coding assistants and leveraging them effectively within a software engineering workflow.
